OKX Trading Bot Platform
Build an OKX Crypto
Trading Bot with Origami Tech
Origami Tech helps you turn an OKX account into
a structured crypto trading bot setup for Spot, Margin, and Futures markets

OKX Account Setup for Automation
OKX brings Spot, Margin, and derivatives activity into one trading environment. That structure makes account configuration part of the strategy itself. Origami Tech gives you a crypto trading bot platform where market rules, available collateral, order logic, and risk limits can be reviewed together before a bot starts sending orders
On OKX, the account mode and selected instrument determine how orders use balance, margin, and positions. Before launching automation, check whether the account configuration matches the intended crypto trading setup. A Spot bot, a Margin strategy, and a Futures bot should not use the same exposure rules.
Connect OKX to Origami Tech with an API Key, Secret Key, and Passphrase. Enable the permissions required for account data and crypto trading execution, while keeping Withdraw permission disabled. You can also bind the API key to Origami Tech’s static IP address in OKX, adding an additional control over where API requests are accepted.
Build separate crypto bot trading strategies for accumulation, range conditions, momentum entries, staged execution, controlled exits, and position management. Use formulas, indicators, variables, price conditions, account values, and order settings to define how the bot should react when market conditions change.
For derivatives crypto trading, price is only one part of the setup. Your rules can account for the current position, available balance, order status, margin usage, and exposure. This gives an OKX crypto trading bot a clearer operating framework for reducing, closing, or pausing a position when the defined conditions are met.
From OKX API Credentials to an Active Bot
Choose the market you want to automate and review the OKX account configuration before creating a bot. Confirm the selected pair, account mode, available balance, leverage settings where applicable, minimum order size, and the amount of capital the strategy may use.
In OKX, create an API key for crypto trading. Save the API Key, Secret Key, and Passphrase during setup because the Passphrase cannot be recovered later. Enable Read and Trade permissions, keep Withdraw disabled, and add the Origami Tech IP address to the allowlist if you use IP binding.
Open your Origami Tech project, go to Accounts, choose Add Account, and select OKX. Enter the API Key, Secret Key, and Passphrase exactly as they appear in OKX. Once the connection is active, select the appropriate OKX account and market for the bot.
Create a crypto trading bot from a preset or build custom logic for entries, exits, position size, take profit, stop loss, and exposure limits. Review the configuration before activation, then follow active orders, positions, balances, and bot status after launch. A crypto trading bot for beginners should begin with controlled order sizing and a clearly defined maximum exposure.
Any Questions?
An OKX trading bot can automate order execution based on the rules you define. Set conditions for entries, exits, order size, price levels, position management, and risk limits; the bot sends orders through your connected OKX account when those conditions are met. Automation follows predefined logic and does not remove market risk.
To connect OKX, create API credentials in your OKX account and add them to Origami Tech. The connection requires an API Key, Secret Key, and Passphrase. Keep these credentials secure when creating the connection.
Enable only the permissions required for account access and trading: Read and Trade. Do not enable Withdraw permissions. This lets the bot retrieve the required account data and place or manage orders without giving it permission to move funds out of the OKX account.
An IP whitelist restricts API requests to approved addresses. Add the Origami Tech IP address shown during account setup to the OKX API key whitelist so requests from other locations are rejected. This adds protection if API credentials are exposed.
Yes. You can create API credentials for an OKX subaccount and connect that account to Origami Tech. A separate subaccount can help isolate the balance, open positions, API key, and risk limits used by a particular bot or strategy.
Before launch, check the selected market and trading pair, available balance, order size, entry and exit conditions, stop rules, take-profit logic, and maximum exposure. For derivatives, also review margin, leverage, liquidation risk, and funding costs before activating the strategy.
Include OKX trading fees, bid-ask spread, and slippage when evaluating a strategy. For derivatives, also account for funding payments where applicable. These costs can materially affect net results, especially when the bot trades frequently or targets small price movements.
Monitor active orders, open positions, available balance, realised and unrealised results, execution status, and total exposure. Review whether the bot is still operating within its predefined risk limits and whether the market conditions still fit the strategy. Edit or pause the bot if those conditions change.
